1.

Measure the width from the jamb (side of the window frame) on the operating side to the center of the window. Or measure full width and divide by 2!

This is the only measurement you will need when you purchase your Windowgate™ to assure a correct fit. Important! A single Windowgate™ is designed for a maximum opening size of 24" in height.

For a higher opening, you must use two Windowgate™ units. For safety, no gap between two units, should exceed 3-7/8".

2.

Measure a 3-7/8" maximum space from the sill of your window to the first horizontal bar of your Windowgate™ & mark for screw locations on the sash rail & window jamb.

If your window has an inner & outer pair of sliding windows, you may attach the Windowgate™ to the outer slider & window wall.

This hides the Windowgate™ inside the window.

3.

Your Windowgate™ must be attached to the vertical center rail of the operating window on one side and to the wall or window jamb on the other side. Screws must be firmly attached or your installation will be defective!

4.

If your Windowgate™ has an additional anchor in the center (a feature of larger units) this is to be attached to the handle of the sliding sash for additional strength.

5.

Warning! Do not attach the bracket closer than 5/8" to exposed glass. If you screw too close to the glass, you risk hitting a buried portion of the glass and, as a result, will crack your glass.

6.

Note that your Windowgate™ can also be installed on a vertical window which is a maximum of 22" wide (exposed opening).
